Lapland. The frigid arctic wilderness. The vast white expanse. Wild. Remote. Cold.
What better place to test the new Lynx Commander Touratech sleds, and a partnership built on a passion for adventure? Over three days, two riders will make the 1000 km journey from the Arctic Circle to the Arctic Ocean. And you can follow them live, right here.
Their weapon of choice? The new Commander Touratech – the most uncompromising, ready-for-anything snowmobile Lynx has ever made. Built with attitude, the sleds combine advanced suspension and body reinforcements with Touratech’s world-renowned, heavy-duty accessories –the perfect fit for the adventure of a lifetime.
There’s a rumour in Lapland that Sami Päivike was born with a snowmobile between his legs. It was only natural, then, that when he grew up he went to work for one of the region’s largest arctic tour operators, and eventually went on to establish his own safari company. For Sami, then, snowmobiles are second nature.
Sami knows Lapland like the back of his hand – and he chooses Lynx sleds to get around the snow-covered wilderness. He also knows the unique challenges that he and Martin will face on their three-day adventure: the harsh conditions, the unpredictable elements, the energy needed for a long and arduous journey.
While Touratech’s Head of Sales, Martin Wickert, knows a lot about motorcycling and the special equipment needed for long-distance motorised adventures, he has very little experience of snowmobiling. Having only ridden a sled on a short trip in the Yukon, this will be his first time on a serious, winter expedition.
Fortunately, then, he’ll be riding the best. Martin is confident that the new Commander Touratech – the product of both Lynx and Touratech’s passion for adventure – is the ultimate sled for ultimate adventure, and the Lynx Adventure will be the perfect test both for the new sled, and for Martin’s stamina. He just hopes he can keep up with Sami!
One passion for adventure.
It might look beautiful, but in Lapland, Mother Nature has two sides, and she can turn at any minute.
From the Arctic Circle to the Arctic Ocean, over frozen lakes and mountain ranges.
Two Commander Touratechs with more combined horsepower than a sports car.
